MA BIRTH BLACE ---

Sankranti Bazar is a village development committee in the Himalayas of Terhathum District in the Kosi Zone of eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 3266 people living in 622 individual households. Once a thriving market town, by 2001 the village had declined because road construction had bypassed them and because of Maoist activity.


Terathun District is situated in the height of 345 meters to 2962 meters from sea level and its area is 679 square kilo meters. The population of this district is 122720 as per the census of 2058 B.S. (2002 A.D.). Its literacy rate is 59.3% and main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 17771.4 hectare. Capital of this district is Myalung Bazar and there are 32 V.D.Cs. which are Chhatedhunga, Iwa, Hwaku, Khamlalung, Samdu, Pauthak, Shreejung, Moharang, Aeyokjung, Isibu, Sakrantibazar, Chuhandanda, Thoklung, Simle, Jaljale,ETC
